Program Overview

It is an introductory program to the world of Modern Music Production, where all one needs to make music is the passion and a good computer. This program covers basics of Music Production and Sound Engineering, spanning 6 months in four broad sections: 1. Sound Engineering; 2. Music Production; 3. Software Operations; 4. Distribution and Business. Each section builds on previous knowledge and skills. TSM Studio plays a significant role in providing context for the current music industry. 

 

The program emphasises practical skills, with dedicated lectures and independent work using software and virtual instruments. Students are given exposure to various practical activities, including commercial recording sessions at TSM Studios and workshops and interactions with industry professionals such as sound engineers, music producers, artists, and music business specialists. This helps them understand the studio environment, build confidence, improve their interpersonal skills, and learn studio etiquette.

 

Students graduating from this program can opt to enroll further into the 12-month programs, directly into semester II.
